Description

English Teacher (SEND) – Temp-to-Perm

Location: Huyton

Daily Rate: £150 – £230 per day

Hours: 08:30 – 15:30 (Full-Time)

Are you an English Teacher who believes that every student, regardless of their starting point, deserves a shot at a GCSE? We are looking for a resilient, creative, and patient educator to support students in Huyton with Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

This is a Temp-to-Perm position. You will start on a competitive daily rate (£150–£230) with the opportunity to transition into a permanent contract once you’ve settled into the role.

The Role

In this setting, your goal is to make literacy accessible. You will be helping students bridge the gap between basic communication and formal qualifications.

*

Curriculum: Delivering a mix of Functional Skills (Entry Level to Level 2) and GCSE English.

*

Adaptation: You will be an expert at teaching "low-level" English, breaking down complex language into manageable, sensory-friendly, and engaging chunks.

*

Environment: Managing a classroom tailored for ASD, ensuring a predictable, calm, and supportive atmosphere.

*

Hours: A consistent 08:30 – 15:30 schedule, offering a much better work-life balance than traditional mainstream roles.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must possess:

*

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Mandatory requirement.

*

SEND Experience: Proven experience working with ASD and MLD learners.

*

Subject Specialist: Experience teaching English at a functional or remedial level.

*

Local Commitment: Ideally based in or able to commute easily to Huyton.

Why Apply?

*

Competitive Pay: Earn between £150 – £230 per day depending on your experience. xjnqpsq

*

Impact: Work with small cohorts where you can actually see the progress your students make every day.

*

Stability: A clear path from a temporary contract to a permanent position in a supportive Huyton school.
