Location: Bristol and surrounding areas

Monarch Education are working with secondary schools across Bristol who are looking for reliable Cover Supervisors to support pupils and maintain continuity of learning from the start of the new academic year.

The role

As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise classes during the short–term absence of teaching staff. You will deliver pre–prepared work, keep pupils focused on their learning and maintain a positive, well–managed classroom environment across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Cover Supervisor, teaching assistant, sports coach, graduate or someone with relevant experience working with young people who is considering a career in teaching.

You will be:

Supervising classes across a range of secondary school subjects

Delivering pre–prepared lessons and ensuring pupils remain on task

Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies

Supporting pupils with instructions and activities where appropriate

Creating a calm, inclusive and purposeful learning environment

Reporting back to teaching staff on pupil engagement and any issues

Supporting pupils of varying abilities and learning needs

Assisting with general school duties where required

Building positive relationships with pupils and staff

Following safeguarding procedures and school expectations at all times

We are looking for someone who is:

Confident supervising groups of secondary–aged pupils

Able to manage classroom behaviour effectively

Organised, reliable and adaptable

Positive, enthusiastic and resilient

A clear and confident communicator

Comfortable following lesson plans and school procedures

Passionate about supporting young people's learning, confidence and development

Requirements:

Experience working with young people in a school, coaching, tutoring, youth work or similar setting is desirable

Strong classroom management and communication skills

Enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to apply for one

Right to work in the UK

Willingness to complete registration, compliance and safeguarding checks
