Catering Manager Temporary Cover Location: Holsworthy, Devon

Contract: Temporary / Interim Cover

Working Pattern: Part Time

Salary: GBP27,761 GBP30,654 per annum (Actual), NJC Grade E

Start Date: Immediate / ASAP

The Supply Register are recruiting for an experienced Catering Manager to provide temporary cover within a school in Holsworthy. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced catering professional who is available to start immediately and can take responsibility for the day–to–day running of a busy school kitchen.

The school is currently recruiting for a permanent Catering Manager, so this role is initially offered on a temporary/interim basis to provide cover while the permanent recruitment process takes place.

There may also be potential for the temporary position to develop into a permanent opportunity for the right candidate, should this be of interest.

The Role You will take responsibility for the effective day–to–day running of the kitchen, ensuring students and staff receive a nutritious, high–quality catering service.

Key responsibilities include:

Leading the day–to–day operation of the kitchen.

Preparing and serving nutritious, high–quality food.

Managing and supporting the catering team.

Planning menus and bringing creativity and culinary flair to the catering offer.

Supporting themed days, events and activities.

Promoting a positive food culture within the school.

Ensuring high standards of food hygiene, health and safety and compliance.

Managing stock, supplies and kitchen resources.

Maintaining a clean, organised and efficient kitchen.

Working collaboratively with colleagues across the wider Trust.

Ensuring Trust policies and procedures are followed.

About You We are looking for someone who is experienced, reliable and confident leading a catering operation and who can step into the role and make an immediate impact.

The ideal candidate will have:

Previous catering, kitchen management or supervisory experience.

Experience leading or managing a catering team.

Strong knowledge of food hygiene, health and safety and compliance.

Excellent organisation and time–management skills.

A creative approach to food and menu planning.

Strong communication skills.

A proactive, hands–on approach.

A commitment to providing nutritious, high–quality food.

Previous experience working within a school or education setting would be advantageous, but is not essential for candidates with strong relevant catering experience.
