Job Title: Behaviour Mentor (SEMH)

Area: Salford

Start Date: September 21st, 2026

Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £100-£125 / day

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:15am-3:30pm

Are you a patient, resilient, and nurturing individual with a passion for supporting young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs?

We are working with a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Salford seeking dedicated a SEMH Mentor to support SEMh learners in the mainstream setting. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a genuine impact on pupils who need encouragement, stability, and guidance to thrive in their learning and development.

SEMH Mentor Role and Responsibilities:

Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs

Provide support for learners working from in the reflection room

Promote positive routines, emotional regulation, and resilience throughout the school day

Contribute to progress tracking and communicate effectively with staff and familiesSEMH Mentor - What We're Looking For:

Experience working with children or young people with SEMH/behavioural needs (in school, care, or youth work)

A calm, empathetic, and proactive approach to managing behaviour

Strong communication and relationship-building skills

An understanding of SEMH and SEND strategies

A relevant qualification in support, care, or education is desirable but not essentialSEMH Mentor - To Be Eligible You Must:

Hold the Right to Work in the UK

Have an enhanced child barred list DBS on the update service (or be willing to apply)
