You’ll be supporting an individual who is partially blind and deaf, helping them maintain independence and confidence in daily life. Your day-to-day involvement will include assisting with reading and writing tasks, offering gentle mobility support during short walks with a mobility frame, and carrying out light household duties such as hoovering or stripping the bed to keep their home comfortable.

An Italian speaker would be especially welcome, as it would make communication smoother and more enriching as it is her first language, although it’s not essential. You’ll also occasionally accompany them to GP appointments and complete a simple weekly blood-pressure check as part of general wellbeing monitoring.

This is a calm, steady role where your presence and patience will make a difference. If you are thoughtful, dependable, and enjoy supporting someone to live safely and comfortably at home, we’d love to hear from you.

- Administration

- Transportation

- Companionship

Candidate qualities:

- Able to both follow instructions and work on own initiative

- Hygienic, tidy and well organised

- Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties

- Patient and possess excellent interpersonal skills

- Honest and cheerful

- Creative

- Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard

- Able to always work to high standards of health & safety

Notes:

All applicants must have the right to work in the UK and be willing to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check if required.

If you are successful in your application for this position, you will be either engaged directly or employed by the individual employer and not by Independent Lives.
