Rover, 75, Saloon, 2001, Other, 1991 (cc), 4 doors

Description

Being sold for parts or repair. SORNED. NO MOT. Car has been in garage since Jan 2012, now on drive because I need the space. Bodywork generally in good condition. No rust, but a few superficial scratches. Good for parts or a project for someone with a passion for Rover 75's. Spare wheel included. Will need to be towed or transported by trailer/ truck.

Now established that the fuel pump has failed although engine starts with EasyStart. With the fuel pump out to further test it away from the car, although it showed 2.3ohms and took 0.5A, it didn't turn. It's dead, and is pretty corroded. So it needs a new pump. These sell for between £30-£60. The installed one is the original - 2000 type. Have the part number and photos. So that's why it wouldn't fire up without EASYSTART. As tank has been drained and the pump is dead, decided not to put the pump back in. Sealed up its place under the back seat and hole is covered with a piece of plastic, the locking ring, and the 4 bolted cover. Not going to be doing further testing as that would require a fuel pump and don’t want to spend money on it.

If the Ad is on Gumtree, then it is available. Please say when you can collect. The price is fair, even if just for parts for a true Rover 75 collector/ restorer. No silly offers!
