HR Advisor (Employee Relations)
12-Month Fixed-Term Contract Full-Time Hybrid Working
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced HR Advisor to join a collaborative HR team, providing expert employee relations support across a diverse organisation.
The successful candidate will deliver professional, pragmatic advice to managers on a wide range of people matters, ensuring compliance with employment legislation, organisational policies and best practice. This role is ideal for an HR professional who enjoys managing a varied caseload and building strong relationships with stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Provide expert advice and guidance on employee relations matters.Manage a varied caseload including disciplinary, grievance, sickness absence, capability, performance, probation, flexible working and dignity at work cases.Support and coach managers through formal HR processes, ensuring fair and consistent outcomes.Conduct and support workplace investigations, preparing reports and recommendations where appropriate.Attend formal meetings and hearings, providing procedural guidance and support.Draft HR correspondence including investigation invitations, outcome letters, warnings and appeal documentation.Support informal resolution of workplace issues and conflict where appropriate.Advise on employment legislation and the practical application of HR policies and procedures.Support organisational change initiatives, including restructures, redeployment and redundancy processes.Assist with employment tribunal preparation and liaise with external legal advisers when required.Analyse employee relations trends and contribute to the development of policies, procedures and manager guidance materials.Support wider HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives.Maintain accurate and confidential employee records in line with data protection requirements.About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
CIPD qualification, part qualification or equivalent HR experience.Strong knowledge of UK employment law and employee relations best practice.Proven experience managing a broad employee relations caseload.Experience advising managers on disciplinary, grievance, capability, performance and absence management issues.Experience conducting or supporting workplace investigations.Excellent communication, coaching and stakeholder management skills.Strong report writing and letter drafting abilities.The ability to interpret legislation and apply policy pragmatically.Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.A professional, resilient and solutions-focused approach.The ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with discretion.Desirable Experience
Organisational change and restructuring projects.Working with trade unions or employee representative groups.Job evaluation methodologies.Experience using HR systems within a complex organisation.Benefits
