Description

Hello, welcome to my page. I am a freelance musician and piano teacher working in the Cotswolds. I teach at several institutions whilst active as a pianist and composer.
As a teacher I have worked extensively with all abilities from beginner to advanced and focus on creating calm and explorative atmosphere in my lessons. I aim for lessons be enthusiastic, encouraging and informative as possible with a large emphasis on fun!
I have been fortunate enough to have been taught by some of the most pre-eminent pianists and pedagogues of the day. They include, Douglas Finch, Philip Fowke, Yonty Solomon and Karl Lutchmayer to name a few. Playing the piano has been my life work and love every chance to share my passion and knowledge with every student I meet.

I have a home teaching studio near Dursley on a lovely Broadwood grand piano as well as offering online lesson plans.

Costs:
£40 per hour
£32 per 45 mins
£25 per 30 mins

Lessons are normally paid monthly with 24 hours notice required for rescheduling. More flexible plans can also be arranged if needed.

Toby has been teaching my 10 year old now 11 years since the beginning of the year. He is a consummate professional with a passion and unique ability for what he does. His passion is infectious and my son always looks forward to his lessons with much excitement. I’m just amazed at how quickly he had him playing beautiful pieces. Absolutely brilliant teacher!

Simply put, Tobias is a fantastic tutor. He is extremely kind and, importantly, genuinely cares about his students and their progress. His pianistic skills are mind-blowing and possesses great musical knowledge and insight, so you are very much learning from the best. I would highly recommend him!

Tobias bespoke tutoring is tailored to meet the individual needs of his students. He certainly motivated my daughter, who looked forward to his lessons and put the work in inbetween. Money VERY well spent!

Tobias has been my 7 year old son's teacher for a year now and my son has really progressed in his piano journey. Toby has so much passion for music which is definitely contagious. He has a fun and relaxed approach without putting too much pressure on little ones so they learn as much as possible whilst enjoying it and not being discouraged. My son is full of confidence on his piano and looks forward to his piano lesson every week. I would highly recommend taking lessons with Tobias.
