Welcome to Helen King Music Tuition. I am a highly professional service offering tuition in piano and keyboard skills, singing, reading and music theory skills, and aural training. I teach all ages and abilities, including adults, right from beginners to post grade 8 and beyond, in all examination boards, with high pass rates. Lately my skills have quickly expanded to offer remote teaching via various online methods as a result of the recent pandemic. This has been a successful method of teaching for many. I am also available as an accompanist for examinations etc.

I am an experienced teacher of over 30 years, also with classroom teaching in various schools in the Hampshire area. As well as running my own private practise, I currently teach at Peter Symonds College in Winchester, St Swithun's School Winchester. I also work as an organist for our local benefice.

I trained at the Birmingham Conservatoire taking joint first study in piano and voice and specialising in teaching studies, gaining Graduate and Associate diplomas in performance and teaching. I followed this with a Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching in Private Practise at Reading University, and later a Masters also at Reading University. I sing with Romsey Choral Society and am also learning to play the harp !
