About Me

Music has been a lifelong passion, and I love helping others discover the confidence and enjoyment that comes from making music.

I hold a Master of Music (MMus) and Bachelor of Music (BMus Hons) and have many years of experience teaching singing and piano. My singing students range from complete beginners to advanced performers, while my piano teaching specialises in building strong musical foundations from beginner level through to Grade 5. I believe that every student learns differently, so I tailor each lesson to suit their individual goals, learning style and pace.

Alongside teaching, I have enjoyed an extensive career as a performer and choral director, performing internationally as both a soprano soloist and choral singer. My professional experience allows me to bring practical, real-world insight into lessons, helping students to develop not only excellent technique but also confidence, musicianship and stage presence.

Whether you’re learning for fun, preparing for exams, auditions or performances, or simply wanting to build confidence, my aim is to create a supportive, encouraging environment where you can thrive. I place a strong emphasis on developing solid technique while ensuring lessons remain engaging, enjoyable and rewarding.

I am familiar with a range of examination boards and have a 100% examination pass rate, with the majority of my students achieving Merit or Distinction. I also prepare students for auditions and scholarship applications, with past students being awarded prestigious music scholarships and other notable accolades. Whether working towards an exam, an audition or a personal goal, I provide tailored guidance to help each student achieve their full potential.

I have extensive experience teaching children, adults and students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), and I strive to create lessons that are accessible, inclusive and enjoyable for everyone.

Lessons are available both face-to-face from my home in Canterbury and online, allowing students to learn in the way that best suits their lifestyle.

Above all, I believe music should be inspiring, creative and enjoyable, and nothing is more rewarding than seeing a student achieve something they once thought was beyond their reach. I look forward to helping you achieve your musical goals.
