Large Contemporary Abstract Still Life Acrylic Painting – Susan Kirkman c.1990

Brief Description:

This is a superb-quality, large original Contemporary Acrylic on Board Still Life Painting by artist Susan Kirkman, dating to circa 1990–2000.

A wonderfully expressive and striking composition, depicting a collection of four pieces of fruit arranged within an abstract interior setting.

The artist has employed a fabulous combination of bold, sweeping brushstrokes, expressive charcoal-like outlines and beautifully layered colour to create a composition that is both modern and timeless.

A particularly attractive feature is the sophisticated colour palette, combining warm terracotta, burnt orange, ochre and golden yellow with contrasting areas of charcoal grey, soft blue-grey and creamy white.

Signed with the artist's initials, 'SK', in the lower right corner.

The work is beautifully presented within an attractive, substantial silver-grey and cream moulded frame, which complements the artwork's contemporary character.

A wonderfully decorative and individual painting that would make a striking focal point within a modern, contemporary or traditional interior.
