Quad man looking for personal care assistant who loves to cook and to travel.

I am tetraplegic  (C5/6), from a Spinal Chord injury 38 years ago, now aged 65 yrs, looking to recruit a live in/live out PA (personal care assistant) to support me with everyday needs.  You would join my existing two helpers on a job share basis working a routine of two weeks on (living in) and four weeks off (living out). 

I live in a purpose built dwelling, adjoining the family home in the heart of beautiful West Wales countryside. On duty you’ll have your own en-suite room and separate kitchen & lounge.

Cooking is a significant part of the job - so enjoying it is important! general care-work (hoist transfers; dressing/undressing; turning; showering; toilet routine (insert suppositories on bed etc.); catheter care; looking after the house, laundry, light cleaning, plant care inside & out; online ordering; paperwork and many of the other tasks I can’t do myself. You should not be shy of hard work, long hours and occasional interrupted nights.

You MUST be : a driver who for insurance reasons is over 25yrs; fully COVID vaccinated and a NON smoker. Previous care work experience is a big advantage - not essential. You must be fully fit, able and willing, hard working, relatively strong, with a positive attitude, and a good sense of humour. 

Our beautiful garden is the present focus of our energy. We have chickens ducks and a pussy cat. I enjoy following sport, reading, French & Spanish language & culture, good food and twice annually travel to S. France (you’ll need up to date papers and be ready to accompany me and/or drive the car down).

Start date: Arriving July 29 for 1 day & night of training/handover, with paid employment (£270 day gross) commencing on completion.
