Yard / Warehouse Operative 6 Month Contract

Thorn Baker Industrial Recruitment are recruiting for a Yard / Warehouse Operative to support material receipt, storage, and dispatch activities at a busy industrial site. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys practical, physical, hands–on work in a fast–paced yard or warehouse environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately record material receipts and dispatches in line with sales and purchase contracts

• Inspect, sample, and verify incoming materials following site procedures

• Allocate materials to the correct storage bays as directed by supervisors

• Maintain stock levels to support ongoing warehouse and yard operations

• Safely load and unload vehicles, supporting drivers and maintaining site safety standards

• Report equipment or vehicle faults promptly

• Complete pre–use checks on FLT, FEL, cranes, sweepers, and lorries, resolving basic maintenance needs

• Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient yard and warehouse working area

Requirements

• Experience working in a yard, warehouse, or industrial environment

• Comfortable with physical, active work

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong, reliable, and safety–focused approach

• Full driving licence

• Basic IT skills

• Preferred: Overhead Crane licence and Forklift Truck (FLT) licence (training can be provided)

• Full training provided

Hours & Pay

• Monday to Friday, 07 00

• GBP30,513.84 per annum (pro–rated for 6 months)

• Equivalent to GBP14.67 per hour
