Description

Our client, a global leader in engineering and environmental consultancy, is currently seeking a Prototype Assembly Technician – Transmissions on a contract basis to join their team in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire.

Key Responsibilities:

Strip and build of prototype transmissions, following prototype build manuals with support from the engineering teamIdentify and implement improvements in build processes for future project phasesFault finding of transmission build and manufacturing issuesStrip and inspect unfamiliar transmissions without instructionUnderstand different transmission types, functions, and componentsCarry out instrumentation and modifications of test units as per engineering requestsRaise issues found during builds and participate in subsequent 8D analysesAdhere to storage/part picking processes with assistance from engineering teamsMaintain good housekeeping of facilities and workshops

Job Requirements:

Experience in the assembly and disassembly of complex transmission systemsAbility to interpret engineering drawings and validate the quality of manufactured partsProficiency in accurate measurement techniques, both manually and using CMMExperience in fabrication and modification of bespoke hardwareMachining experience including lathe, mill, pillar drill, and weldingStrong mechanical understanding and ability to identify design and manufacturing faults
