The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Management Accountant to join a well–established manufacturing business operating within a multi–entity group environment. Reporting to the Group Finance Director, you'll take ownership of a standalone manufacturing subsidiary whilst supporting the wider finance function with accurate reporting, strong financial controls and continuous process improvement.

This is a varied, hands–on role suited to someone who enjoys taking ownership and working closely with operational teams in a fast–paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

Produce monthly management accounts for a standalone manufacturing business. Take responsibility for the day–to–day finance operations, including sales ledger, purchase ledger, credit control and payroll oversight. Complete balance sheet reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records. Monitor daily cash flow, bank reconciliations and multi–currency bank accounts. Support treasury activities and manage invoice discounting reconciliations. Prepare journals, accruals, prepayments and supporting schedules for month–end reporting. Provide financial analysis and reporting to support the Group Finance Director with the preparation of consolidated group accounts. Maintain strong financial controls and ensure the integrity of financial data. Work closely with colleagues across operations, sales and procurement to improve financial processes and drive efficiencies. Support business improvement initiatives, including finance systems developments and ERP projects. Assist with year–end audit requirements and statutory reporting.

About You

We're looking for someone who can confidently manage their own workload whilst building strong relationships across the business.

You'll ideally have:

Experience producing management accounts within a manufacturing or product–based business. Previous experience working within a multi–entity environment. Strong knowledge of month–end processes, balance sheet reconciliations and financial reporting. Experience managing cash flow and bank reconciliations, ideally including multi–currency transactions. Excellent Excel skills and confidence working with finance systems/ERP software. A proactive approach with strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills. AAT qualified, part–qualified (ACCA/CIMA) or qualified by experience.

Desirable

Manufacturing costing or stock accounting experience. Experience supporting ERP implementations or finance process improvements. Exposure to invoice discounting or treasury management. Experience working within a growing SME or group structure.
