Description

Overall Purpose

Lead and manage the hygiene function to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness across the site. You will be responsible for maintaining a safe, compliant, and audit-ready environment that meets both customer and internal quality expectations.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead, coach, and develop the site teams to deliver and maintain hygiene standards across the site.

* Develop, support and coordinate hygiene training for Cleaning Instruction Cards (CIC) across all shifts

* Implement and maintain Hygiene CIC’s and risk assessments for the site

* Manage hygiene, waste, and pest control systems, ensuring they remain effective, compliant, and up to date

* Ensure consistent availability and correct use of PPE across the site

* Oversee and verify completion of daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning records

* Support customer and third-party audits, including presenting hygiene data and demonstrating equipment standards

* Investigate hygiene-related non-conformances and implement effective corrective actions

* Deliver hands-on training and conduct regular competency assessments for hygiene staff

About You (Competencies)

* Proven experience within a food manufacturing environment

* Strong people management and leadership skills

* Confident communicator with the ability to influence at all levels

* Decisive with strong problem-solving ability

* Highly organised with excellent attention to detail

* Comfortable using IT systems and managing data

Skills & Qualifications

* Proactive and hands-on approach

* Strong leadership xjnqpsq and team development skills

* Excellent organisational and communication abilities

* Experience in root cause analysis and continuous improvement

* Budget management experience

* Level 3 Food Safety and Level 3 HACCP (or equivalent) (Desirable)

* Allergen Awareness certification (Desirable)

* IOSH Health & Safety knowledge

* Experience managing contractors and pest control systems

* Environmental awareness and understanding of waste management processes

* Train the Trainer (Desirable)
