Description

JOB TITLE – HR ADMINISTRATOR

LOCATION – HULL

SALARY – £28,000–£32,000 (DOE)

We are supporting an established business in Hull as they reshape their office function.

We’re recruiting an HR Administrator to combine day‑to‑day HR administration with broader office support, basic data/reporting and general business admin within a growing, people‑focused environment.

This role sits at the heart of the site, supporting the Managing Director and wider leadership team with HR processes, records, compliance and core admin tasks.

THE ROLE

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with early‑stage HR experience (or Level 3 CIPD) who wants hands‑on exposure across the full employee lifecycle, while still keeping a broad remit across office and business administration. Experience in a product‑based, manufacturing or operational environment is preferred.

You’ll act as the first point of contact for day‑to‑day HR queries, maintain employee records, coordinate processes with an external HR provider and ensure documentation and systems are accurate and up to date.

Key responsibilities include:

* Acting as a first‑line contact for routine HR and admin queries from managers and employees.

* Maintaining accurate employee records, contracts, absence data and training logs.

* Supporting end‑to‑end HR administration – offer letters, onboarding paperwork, probation reviews and leaver documentation.

* Coordinating with an external HR partner on more complex cases (e.g. disciplinaries, grievances) and ensuring agreed actions are documented and followed.

* Carrying out general administration – filing, scanning, document control and updating HR and business systems.

* Running basic HR and people reports (e.g. headcount, absence, turnover) and flagging trends or issues.

* Liaising with internal teams (operations, finance, line managers) to ensure HR processes are understood and completed on time.

* Contributing to policy tidying, process improvements and compliance across HR and wider office admin.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

This role blends HR support with hands‑on office administration and basic reporting.

We’re looking for:

* Experience in HR administration, people support or office admin with HR exposure, ideally within a product‑based or commercial environment.

* CIPD Level 3 (or working towards) is highly desirable, or equivalent practical experience.

* High attention to detail with accurate document and data handling.

* Comfort managing a mix of tasks – from routine filing and scanning to sensitive HR documentation.

* Good systems skills; Excel skills and confidence with data are an advantage.

* Discreet, professional manner with strong written and verbal communication. xjnqpsq

* Positive, can‑do attitude, willing to pitch in wherever needed in a small team.

* Genuine interest in developing a career in HR and growing with the business
