CNC Turner / Multi–Tasking Machinist required for a specialist manufacturer of precision components and assemblies for high–end scientific customers based in Dunstable. The successful candidate will be responsible for programming, setting and operating CNC turning and multi–tasking machinery, producing precision components to tight tolerances from engineering drawings.

The role offers the opportunity to work within a modern workshop environment using a range of advanced CNC machinery, including Mazak INTEGREX multi–tasking machines combining turning, milling and drilling operations within a single setup.

The successful candidate will need to be highly accurate, technically capable and hands–on, with strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high–quality work. Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a small technical team are also essential.

CNC Turner Position Overview

Programming, setting and operating CNC lathes and multi–tasking CNC machinery

Working with Mazak INTEGREX machines combining turning, milling and drilling operations

Producing precision–turned and mill–turned components to tight tolerances

Working from engineering drawings and ensuring components meet required specifications

Setting and indexing a B–axis milling head and machining multiple faces/features in a single setup

Ensuring consistent quality and meeting required production standards

CNC Turner Position Requirements

Experienced CNC Turner with strong setting and operating experience

Multi–tasking / mill–turn experience desirable, ideally with Mazak INTEGREX or similar machinery

Mazatrol programming experience essential

Experience with live tooling and driven tools desirable

Ability to set and index a B–axis milling head

Experience machining a variety of metals and plastics

Experience producing high–tolerance / close–tolerance components

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, including GD&T

Confident using precision measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers and gauges

CMM experience desirable

Highly accurate with excellent attention to detail

Strong problem–solving skills

Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a small technical team

Strong organisational skills with a forward–thinking approach

Computer–literate

Commitment to maintaining a clean and organised working environment

CNC Turner Position Remuneration

16 – 22 per hour + 20% shift allowance

Performance–related company bonus (non–contractual)

Basic working week of 37.5 hours

Shift pattern: 13:30 – 22:15 Monday to Thursday and 13:30 – 18:00 Friday

Alternatively, 06:00 – 14:00 Monday to Friday
