CNC Turner Programmer

Location: WD4 – Kings Langely

Salary: GBP40,000 to GBP50,000 per annum DOE

Hours: Days / 8am to 4pm / Monday to Friday

Employment Type: Permanent

The Opportunity

WF Tech are currently working with an established precision CNC manufacturing business based in Hertfordshire, supplying highly technical components into sectors including aerospace, defence, motorsport and robotics.

The business operates from a highly advanced engineering facility, with a strong focus on precision, quality and technical excellence. Due to continued growth, they are looking to add an experienced CNC Turner / CNC Machinist to their established engineering team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled CNC Turner who enjoys working on complex, high–precision components and wants to work with modern CNC machinery and supporting technology.

The Role

As a CNC Turner, you will be responsible for setting and operating CNC turning machinery, ensuring components are manufactured accurately and efficiently to engineering drawings and required specifications.

Your responsibilities will include:

Setting and operating CNC turning machinesDefining machine datumsProving out new jobsEditing machine offsetsCarrying out first–off inspection checksMaintaining tight machining tolerancesReading and interpreting detailed engineering drawingsWorking closely with inspection teams to ensure drawing requirements and tolerances are achievedMaterial identification and controlWorking with Team Leaders to plan and manage production efficientlySupporting the team in maintaining minimal machine downtimeEnsuring a high standard of quality across all manufactured components The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will ideally have the majority of the following:

Previous experience within a precision / subcontract CNC manufacturing environmentStrong experience setting and operating CNC lathesGood understanding of engineering drawings and tolerancesExperience carrying out first–off inspection checksExcellent attention to detailA methodical and precise approach to machiningGood timekeeping and reliabilityA positive attitude with a willingness to learn and developThe ability to work effectively as part of an established engineering team Technical Experience

Candidates should ideally have:

Approximately 4 years' or more CNC machining experienceExperience with offline programmingStrong CNC setting and operating experienceExperience with DMG MORI machinery would be advantageousExperience using CELOS controls would be advantageousExperience with HyperMILL ? Turning would be highly desirableExperience machining difficult materials such as Inconel, Titanium and Stainless SteelA background producing complex components to tight tolerancesExperience within motorsport, aerospace, defence or another high–precision engineering environment would be advantageous
