Description

We are delighted to be working with a specialist manufacturer that operates globally producing bespoke products. Reporting to the Workshop Manager you will set and operate the CNC machines in a safe and competent manner and to work as part of a team ensuring that production schedules for the Machine Shop are met.

After your initial training on days, you will move onto a weekly rotating double day shift below:

Earlies: 6AM – 2:30pm (6am - 1:30pm on Fridays)

Late shift: 1:30pm – 10pm (12:30pm – 8pm on Fridays)

Ideally you will have at least 3 years machining experience working in a similar industry with an understanding of producing and measuring precision components to tight tolerances, including the principles of G code CNC programs (Fanuc).

The role primarily involves:

* To set and operate the CNC lathes or mills which you are assigned to, with the minimum of supervision

* To run production jobs on the CNC machines and to carry out all inspection duties required to ensure that parts are manufactured correctly to drawing and meet tight deadlines

* To ensure the ERP system and all paperwork is completed correctly and on time

* Complete all associated documentation and ensure compliance with ISO9001 procedures

* To make sure that any machine issues are reported to the relevant Manager

* To follow the company’s philosophy of lean manufacturing and look at ways to make improvements and then bring these to the attention of your team Manager

* To be responsible for keeping the areas you are working in and around, clean and tidy

You’ll be motivated with commitment to make things happen with the willingness to contribute new ideas towards improvement working to tight production deadlines with exposure of quality assurance procedures to ISO9001 standards and good IT skills.
