Description

Thrive Personnel are recruiting for an experienced CNC machinist to join their clients rapidly expanding team, based in South Leeds.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC machines to produce high-quality wooden parts and products. You will work from technical drawings and specifications to program machines, select appropriate tooling, and ensure parts meet precise measurements and tolerances.

Responsibilities:

Read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.

Set up CNC machines, including loading materials, installing tooling, and making necessary adjustments.

Operate CNC machines to cut, shape, and drill wooden parts.

Monitor machine performance and make adjustments as needed to ensure quality and efficiency.

Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments to verify conformance to specifications.

Perform routine maintenance on CNC machines, including cleaning, lubricating, and troubleshooting minor issues.

Collaborate with engineers and designers to optimize designs for manufacturability.

Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification preferred.

Proven experience as a CNC Machinist, preferably with wood materials.

Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.

Ability to use precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers).

Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

This is a temp to perm opportunity working on our clients late shift 15.30pm - 1.30am Monday to Thursday (4 day working week)
