Coordinate transport scheduling and driver dispatch for a busy logistics operation, working 12–hour shifts on a 4 on 4 off rota. Use logistics systems to plan and track deliveries while keeping service levels high and ensuring compliance.

Role details

Full–time, permanent role based in Middleton, Manchester, working a 4 on 4 off pattern of 12–hour day and night shifts with a salary of 26,000– 28,000 per year.

The role

As a Transport Coordinator you'll manage transport activities so drivers, vehicles and deliveries are planned, tracked and completed efficiently. The role exists to maintain a smooth, compliant operation while supporting customers and colleagues across the transport function. You'll work closely with drivers, suppliers and customers, using logistics software and clear communication to keep everything running to plan.

What you'll be doing

Scheduling and dispatching drivers to meet delivery requirements.Monitoring transport costs and performance to support an efficient operation.Communicating with drivers, suppliers and customers to coordinate deliveries and resolve issues.Using logistics software to track shipments and update stakeholders.Ensuring compliance with transport regulations and internal policies.Maintaining accurate records of all transport activities.

What we're looking for

Previous experience in a similar transport or logistics coordination role.Strong customer service skills and confident communication with multiple stakeholders.Good logistics understanding and ability to work with transport plans and data.Solid computer literacy, with the ability to learn and use logistics systems.Ideally some IT or supply chain knowledge and familiarity with Word and Outlook.A valid driving licence is preferred.
