Ocean Freight Operator – Redditch
Sea freight–focused role 30,000 – 35,000 Mon–Fri 08:00–17:00
We are recruiting for an experienced Ocean Freight Operator to join a well–established and growing UK freight forwarder based in Redditch.
This is a hands–on, start–to–finish role with a strong focus on sea freight import and export operations, offering the opportunity to develop into a fully multimodal operator with exposure to air and road freight (full training provided).
The role includes:
Start–to–finish management of sea freight import and export shipmentsHandling customs clearance and all associated documentationLiaising with customers, overseas agents, carriers, and suppliersArranging final delivery and transportResolving operational issues professionally and efficientlyAccurate job costing and invoicingSupporting air and road freight bookings as part of multimodal developmentMaking consultative outbound calls to customers to support service delivery and growth
Requirements:
Minimum 2 years' experience in sea freight operations (imports and/or exports)Solid understanding of international freight forwarding processesCustoms clearance experienceConfident handling files end to endOrganised, detail–focused, and customer–drivenAir or road freight experience beneficial but not essential
