Description

Job Title: Materials Controller / Logistics Officer (Warehousing & Inventory Specialist)

Location: Swaffham, Norwich (PE37)

Contract Duration: Start 02/03/2026 – up to 2 years

Join a Major Infrastructure Project: We're Seeking Warehouse & Inventory Operations Experts

Are you an experienced professional with a strong background in warehousing, inventory control, and materials coordination on large–scale projects? We have a fantastic long–term opportunity for a meticulous and proactive Materials Controller / Logistics Officer to play a key role in a critical infrastructure project.

This role is central to the smooth flow of materials, from arrival on site to final use. If you have a proven track record in managing complex inventory, storage solutions, and quality documentation, we want to hear from you.

The Role:

Reporting to the Site Management team, you will be responsible for the end–to–end control and coordination of materials for a major Converter Station project. Your focus will be on ensuring materials are received, stored, and issued efficiently and accurately.

Key Responsibilities:

Take custody of all materials delivered to site, from initial shipment through to site storage.

Coordinate and manage all on–site storage logistics and layout.

Control the issue and return of permanent materials and plant equipment in line with project programme requirements.

Handle a range of mechanical and electrical instrumentation components.

Compile, manage, and maintain all necessary quality documentation, including FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing) records.

Understand and plan for the dimensions, weights, and handling requirements of large equipment.

Liaise with site management, contractors, and delivery teams to ensure seamless logistics operations.

What We're Looking For:

Essential: Strong, proven experience in warehousing, inventory operations, and materials control, preferably within a large–scale construction, engineering, or industrial environment.

Essential: Valid CSCS/ECS/CCNSG Safety Passport.

Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail for documentation and stock accuracy.

Proactive problem–solver with strong coordination and communication skills.

Experience handling technical materials and associated quality paperwork is a significant advantage.

Note: While a telehandler licence and experience would be beneficial, it is not an essential requirement for this role. We are actively seeking candidates whose core expertise lies in warehouse and inventory management.

How to Apply:

If you are a reliable and experienced warehousing/logistics professional looking for a stable, long–term role on a significant project, please submit your CV outlining your relevant experience.

Search is an equal opportunities recruiter and we welcome applications from all suitably skilled or qualified applicants, regardless of their race, sex, disability, religion/beliefs, sexual orientation or age
