Delivery Driver / Warehouse Operative

Salary: £12.90 per hour + overtime

Location: Kings Norton, Birmingham - Driving licence essential

Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week

8.30-5.00pm Monday to Fiday in Warehouse.Flexible on delivery days to suit run. (All van runs are return to base each day.)
Primary Purpose

This hybrid role is responsible for ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction through efficient warehouse operations and timely, professional delivery of goods. The role combines a significant focus on multi-drop delivery driving, customer interaction, and safe transportation of products with core warehouse duties (goods receipt, storage, picking, and dispatch)

Key Responsibilities

Delivery Driving (Core Focus of Role)

Carry out regular multi-drop deliveries to customers across designated routesLoad and unload delivery vehicles safely and efficientlyPlan and load delivery routes to ensure timely and cost-effective operationsProvide excellent customer service during deliveries, acting as a company representativeObtain and manage proof of delivery documentationEnsure compliance with all road safety, legal, and company transport regulationsPerform daily vehicle checks and basic maintenanceReport vehicle issues, incidents, or delays promptly
Warehouse Operations

Receive, unload, and process incoming stock in line with Standard Operating ProceduresHandle temperature-controlled items in accordance with required standardsIdentify, report, and resolve discrepancies in deliveriesPerform stock replenishment, stock rotation, and batch controlPick, pack, and prepare customer orders for dispatchGenerate delivery documentation, including delivery notes and proof of deliveryProcess consignments for third-party carriersConduct regular inventory checks and maintain accurate stock recordsEnsure warehouse organisation meets audit and compliance standardsMaintain high standards of cleanliness, safety, and organisation
Qualifications & Skills

We are looking for someone who wants to build a long-term career with us. This role is ideal for someone with warehouse and delivery experience who enjoys a varied, hands-on role. It is not suitable for applicants seeking temporary work or a short-term position.

Essential

Full, clean UK driving licenceProven experience in a warehouse and/or delivery driving roleGood organisational and time management skillsGood communication skills (written and verbal)Ability to work independently and as part of a teamPhysically fit and able to handle manual tasksBasic IT skills (Microsoft Office, scanning systems, or inventory software)Location – within 30mins of Office/Warehouse in Kings Norton
Desirable

Reach forklift licence (training can be provided)Experience with SAPExperience handling temperature-controlled goodsMulti-drop delivery experience
