Description
Baby Portsss lathe made in Sheffield approx 100 years ago. A classic simple design marketed variously as Gamages, Zyto, Groves & Grayson. This was the smallest model they made and it’s bigger and more robust but similar to the Super Adept
The bearings and bed are in vgc, a v pulley is fitted to the spindle
Various accessories are included such as a faceplate, drive centre, tailstock dead centre and a 3” Crown 3 jaw chuck key etc
A small Jacob’s Chuck and key is included this will need fitting to a taper before use & the3 jaw chuck will need mounting to a backplate - it could be fixed to the existing faceplate
This lathe is ready for use or display it is suitable for running from a small motor or a speed controller and sewing machine motor which gives variable speeds
Collection in person is welcome or it can be posted via courier. Lathe and chuck weigh 9kg without any packing
