£17.50 per hour | Immediate start | Flexible project work | Training provided
Block Deployment is looking for locally based Field Engineers for a major retail technology rollout across Scotland.
We currently have specific requirements around:
Aberdeen / Aberdeenshire
Skene
Inverurie
Dundee / Broughty Ferry
Fort William
Oban
We are particularly interested in applicants based in AB, DD, PH and western PA postcode areas.
We already have engineers covering parts of Central Scotland, so these vacancies are specifically designed to improve local coverage of the north, east and west of Scotland.
You will be assigned routes close to where you live rather than being expected to travel across Scotland.
The role
You'll visit retail locations and complete structured technology checks and remediation, including:
Router and connectivity checks
Camera and hardware checks
Equipment configuration
Basic network troubleshooting
Replacing or reconnecting equipment
Recording SIM, IMEI and serial information
Testing equipment after changes
Updating client systems
Capturing evidence and visit outcomes
Escalating issues that cannot be resolved onsite
Who we're looking for
Previous experience in IT, field service, networking, telecoms, CCTV, EPOS, hardware installation or technical support would be a strong advantage.
You should be:
Technically confident
Comfortable using a laptop
Able to follow detailed instructions
Good at structured troubleshooting
Reliable and punctual
Comfortable travelling between nearby stores
Professional when dealing with store teams
Accurate when recording technical information
You do not need to know the specific equipment already — project-specific training will be provided.
Because several routes are outside major city centres, a driving licence and your own vehicle are strongly preferred.
Pay
£17.50 per hour
Full-time and part-time project work available with immediate starts.
