Inclusion Officer - Early Years, Education & Skills Hourly Rate: GBP16.65 PAYELocation: SheffieldJob Type: Interim Join a dedicated local authority team in Sheffield as an Inclusion Officer, focusing on Early Years, Education, and Skills. This role is crucial in supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) by managing Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). You will ensure that their needs are met through effective assessment, planning, and collaboration with families and professionals.

Day-to-day of the role: Manage a caseload of children and young people with SEND.Lead on statutory assessments and reviews of EHCPs.Write and update EHCPs to ensure they accurately reflect the child's needs and support their progress.Liaise with families, schools, health, and care professionals to gather input and coordinate support.Represent the Local Authority at meetings and panels.Ensure all work is completed within legal timeframes and to a high standard.Promote inclusive practices and provide advice to schools and services.Use IT systems to manage casework and maintain accurate records. Required Skills & Qualifications: Good attention to detail and highly organised.Ability to work under pressure and to very tight timescales in a methodical and fast-paced environment.Very IT literate (proficiency in Word, Excel, case management systems).Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.Experience in working with EHCPs and liaising with various stakeholders.Knowledge of SEND laws and guidance (e.g., Children and Families Act, SEN Code of Practice).Experience working with families and professionals from different sectors.Understanding of inclusive practices and child development.Ability to manage a large caseload and resolve complex issues.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Level 3 qualification or equivalent experience.GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English (Grade C or above).
