Description

A welcoming and supportive SEN school in Cirencester is seeking a compassionate Emotional Support Worker to join their team. The school is dedicated to providing an inclusive and safe environment where every child has the chance to achieve both emotionally and academically.

This role would suit someone who is patient, empathetic, and motivated to make a difference in young people's lives. As an Emotional Support Worker, you will help pupils manage their emotions, develop resilience, and learn positive coping strategies. Working alongside teachers, families, and external professionals, as an emotional support worker you'll contribute to a nurturing setting that supports both personal and educational growth.

What you'll be doing as an Emotional Support Worker:

Providing 1:1 and small-group support to children with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needsAssisting staff in creating and delivering tailored support plansBuilding strong, trusting relationships to promote emotional wellbeingHelping students express feelings in constructive and positive waysSupporting the development of social skills and conflict resolution strategiesTracking progress and reporting on emotional and behavioural developmentEncouraging confidence, resilience, and self-awareness in students What we're looking for:

Previous experience working with children or young people (SEMH experience beneficial but not essential)A background in Psychology, Criminology, Education, or a related area would be preferredExcellent communication skillsEmpathy, patience, and a strong commitment to supporting children's wellbeing This is a fantastic opportunity to have a genuine impact on the lives of young people while building valuable skills and experience in the fields of education and mental health.
