Description
The guitar is in good condition for a 67 year old. Extensive changes have been made, Including the addition of side dots in the fingerboard. It has also been electrified with a “tune-o-matic” piezo bridge and a Lindo preamp mounted in the upper bout. (See photos) There is a slight concave bow in the fingerboard, but the guitar is playable. (This is an early example which does not have a truss rod in the neck). The guitar has the compensator tailpiece and the original mock tortoiseshell pickguard. A period 1950s case will accompany the guitar, as will the original 1958 bridge. Also included will be a copy of the book “ The Hofner Guitar, A History” with a signed letter by the author, Gordon Giltrap.
