Experienced English tutor

• I have been an online private tutor for the past six years, but I actually have more than thirty years’ experience of tutoring.
• I specialise in English for A Level and IB students, but work a lot with GCSE and primary pupils.
• I am able to provide a bespoke supervision service for BA, MA and PhD students.
• I have taught post-16s and adults in Further Education.
• In addition, I have experience as an exam marker.
• I have also worked as an editor in publishing.
• This wealth and breadth of experience has trained me to find teaching methods that suit each individual person.
• I tailor my tutoring, to help unlock potential and discover the best way students can learn, in order to pass whatever exam (or challenge) they are facing.
• My students often boost their grades dramatically within a few months or achieve fluency in a language within a year.

Here is an outline of my initial process:

1. You message me with as much information as possible.
• Parents – tell me what you are aiming for, and how ready you think your child is.

2. We arrange a phone call for a preliminary discussion.
• Parents - one key thing I need to find out is what your child is reading. Daily reading is critical. The adage is true: Reading is succeeding.

3. We sort out our timings and book a lesson. And then we get cracking.
