Job Summary:

Morson are exclusively recruiting for Skilled Fabricators to work on behalf of our client GKN url removed)/) based at their site in Filton (BS34 9AU)

Suitable candidates must either have a recognised and relevant apprenticeship OR the equivalent NVQ Level 3 standard CERTS MUST BE PROVIDED WITH APPLICATION

Rate(s): GBP20.17 per hour Days (once stamp gained rate rises to GBP21.00 per hour)

7 Day Fort Day GBP25.21 per hour (once stamp gained rate rises to GBP26.25 per hour) All overtime GBP30.26 per hour (with stamp GBP31.50 per hour)

Trialling a Travel / Accommodation allowance for Fabricators:

Over 50 miles away GBP700 Receipted & subject to Tax and NIOver 75 miles away GBP800 Receipted & subject to Tax and NI Standard Hours: 35 per week on days / average of 41 hours on 7–day fort day

Other working hours information: Days 4 Day Week Hours are 7am to 4.15pm

7 Day Fort Day: week 1 Mon, Tues, Weds, Sat and Sun week 2 Thurs and Fri

7am–6:45pm 11 hrs and 45 mins per day

Shift Pattern: Core Days 2 weeks will move onto 7 Day Fort Day

PROFILE

The use of hand, electrical and pneumatic tools and bending machines to shape, form and assemble metal products within drawing limits. Desired abilities to include (but not limited to):

Use of jigs to assemble parts made from stainless steel, titanium or aluminiumFittingSwagingMeasuring machinery and jigsAwareness of recognised quality process, i.e. ISO 9001, AS/EN9100, or similar KEY DELIVERABLES

Working with metals that have less than 3–millimetre thicknessEnsure parts are produced on a right first time basisEnsure that any calibrated equipment used is within dateResponsible for the timely clearance of work phases using the SAP systemResponsible for highlighting any non–conformance to the Process Team LeaderAdhering to the requirements of the GKNAF Quality ProceduresAccountable for Health & Safety requirements under Section 7 of the HASAWA 1974To hold first party inspection approval (M02 status is subject to obtaining A stamp approval)Responsible for general housekeeping within the area KEY SKILLS

A recognised and relevant apprenticeship or the equivalent NVQ Level 3 standard CERTS MUST BE PROVIDED Previously worked with thin plate materials 3mm and underPrevious manufacturing experience in a factory environmentAbility to understand technical drawings/limits.Must be able to work in small teams with Process Team LeadersSelf–motivated team player with good communication skillsKnowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and techniques to support GKNAF continuous improvement initiatives would be desirable Security: Baseline Security Clearance will be via GKN Agenda Screening and includes a DBS Check (Any gaps in employment over 4 weeks need to be qualified and supported with qualifying documentation i.e. job seekers proof, bank statements to show how supported yourself, medical documentation without this candidate will not pass security checks)
