Major Recruitment are looking for an experience Sheet Metal Worker for a successful engineering company in Darwen on a permanent basis, this is a fantastic opportunity for the right person.

As a Sheet Metal Worker, you will be responsible for the fabrication, assembly, and repair of high-precision sheet metal components used in aircraft and aerospace structures. This is a hands-on role requiring expertise, attention to detail, and adherence to strict aerospace standards.

Fabricate, assemble, and install sheet metal parts according to engineering drawings and specifications.Operate hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment including shears, brakes, presses, and CNC machinery.Perform drilling, riveting, and fastening operations to create secure, durable metal assemblies.Repair and modify aircraft components, ensuring all work meets exacting aerospace standards.Conduct inspections to ensure quality and compliance with tight tolerances.Collaborate closely with engineers and quality teams to resolve fabrication challenges.Maintain a safe, organised workspace and adhere to all PPE and safety protocols.Document processes, material usage, and inspection results accurately.Requirements:

Minimum 3 years' sheet metal experience, ideally in aerospace.Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.Proficiency with aluminium, titanium, stainless steel, and other aerospace materials.Experience with precision measuring instruments such as callipers, micrometres, and height gauges.High attention to detail with a commitment to quality.Strong teamwork and communication skills.Physical ability to handle large metal sheets and work in various positions.This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your career with a leading aerospace manufacturer while working in a supportive, high-tech environment.
