Water Hygiene Engineer & Remedial Plumbing Operative

Essex

30,000 - 34,000 + Overtime

A respected building services provider is looking to add an experienced water hygiene engineer to their expanding team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional seeking long-term development within a growing, compliance-led environment.

In this role, you will carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and remedial plumbing works across domestic and commercial sites. As a water hygiene engineer, you'll be responsible for ensuring water systems remain safe, compliant, and fully maintained, with duties including updating logbooks, conducting inspections, and delivering remedial actions such as TMV servicing, tap replacements, and dead leg removals.

Package:

Salary: 30,000 - 34,000 DOE + overtime

Hours: 42.5 per week

Key Responsibilities:

Complete PPM tasks and routine maintenance on hot and cold-water systems

Maintain site logbooks in line with water hygiene and Legionella control standards

Deliver remedial plumbing works highlighted from risk assessments

Provide guidance to clients on water hygiene compliance and best practice

Support the wider team in delivering safe, efficient, and compliant services

Requirements:

Minimum 2 years' experience within the water hygiene or water treatment sector

C&G or NVQ Level 1/2 in Plumbing (or equivalent)

Strong reporting skills and attention to detail

Full UK driving licence (over 21)

Legionella awareness training beneficial
