The Company:

A well-established manufacturing and steel processing business with a strong reputation for quality, reliability and long-term investment. The organisation is entering an exciting period of modernisation, with substantial investment being made into new technology, including the introduction of a fully automated CNC cut-and-drill line that will significantly enhance capability and efficiency on site. This creates a fantastic opportunity for someone wanting to step into a role with real influence and technical challenge.

Job Description:

As the Production Supervisor, you will take a leading role in preparing the site for the installation of the new CNC line and ensuring its successful introduction into the operation. This will include developing new processes, supporting safe and efficient daily running, and helping shape how the new technology is embedded into production.

You will also take responsibility for coaching and developing a small team of operators, ensuring they are fully trained and confident in using the equipment. The role will involve working closely with both internal teams and external partners, as well as attending specialist training to become fully competent with the new machinery.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys problem-solving, improving processes, and taking ownership of technical projects.

Skills & Experience:

Background in CNC machining, automated production or similar technical environments

Confident in interpreting technical and design drawings

Experience supervising, mentoring or supporting operators on the shop floor

CAD exposure or understanding of technical documentation (advantageous)

Engineering/manufacturing qualifications or relevant experience

Practical, proactive attitude with the ability to support the installation and commissioning of new equipment

Strong communication skills, including working with customers on technical queries
