Pipefitter Instructor

Description

Our client is currently looking for a Pipefitter Instructor to join them on a permanent basis. As the Pipefitter Instructor you will provide support to the delivery of training across Coppersmith/Pipefitter skills area within Skill of Hand Training group.

Role: Pipefitter Instructor

Location: Portsmouth

Hours: Full Time - Monday to Friday 09:00-17:30

Salary: 39.000 - 41,000

Due to the nature of this role, you must be eligible for UK Security Clearance at SC level.

Responsibilities:

Provide training on how to fit pipework on ships from a drawing (Fit from design)Teaching Brazing techniquesMaintain strong working relationships with customers and colleagues within the Marine Engineering Electrical training area.Support trainee development through assessment, feedback, and personalised learning approaches.Maintain and update training materials and contribute to modernising and improving training delivery.Ensure compliance with KPIs, SLAs, and safety standards, while maintaining a CPD portfolio.

Essential Skills/Experience/Qualifications

Minimum Level 3 Technical Certificate in an Engineering disciplineBe proficient in the use of IT (hardware/software) within the workplaceCompetent practical Coppersmith/Pipefitter hand skillsProven experience in workshop/industry principles

Desirable Skills/Experience/Qualifications

Level 4 Teaching Qualification / DCTS Defence Train The Trainer Course or equivalent (successful completion)Previous instructional experience in a military or civilian engineering environment

This role is offered on a term time basis working 45 weeks per year, with non-working weeks taken 2 weeks at Christmas and Easter and 3 weeks in August. The salary will therefore be pro rata'd and calculated to include contractual annual leave entitlement and bank holidays.
