Description
Rubicon Consulting is currently recruiting for a MIG/MAG Fabricator on a 6 month rolling contract based in Rugby.
Role Summary
We re looking for a highly skilled Multidiscipline Welder / Machinist / Mechanical Builder to join a leading engineering workshop on a 6-month contract. This is NOT just welding the ideal person is confident working across welding, machining, and mechanical assembly.
You ll be involved in fabricating, machining, grinding, and building mechanical assemblies from drawings. Variety of work, clean environment, and immediate start.
Key Responsibilities
MIG & MAG welding (main discipline) Occasional TIG welding as required Manual machining including turning Cylindrical grinding work Mechanical building/assembly of components Working from engineering drawings and build instructions Ensuring high-quality standards across all fabricated and machined parts Ability to work independently and as part of a workshop team
Requirements
Strong background in MIG and MAG welding Experience with TIG (advantage, not essential) Manual machining experience turning, grinding, or toolroom work Knowledge of cylindrical grinding highly desirable Mechanical assembly/fitting experience Ability to read engineering drawings confidently Good problem-solving skills and workshop adaptability
