Maintenance Engineer (Multi-Skilled)

Location: Brandon area, Suffolk

Salary: Competitive, plus benefits

Hours: Monday to Friday, 7am - 6pm

Contract: Permanent, full-time

About the Role

Our client, an established manufacturer, is looking to add an experienced multi-skilled engineer to its maintenance team. You ll keep production running smoothly, but you ll also have a genuine say in improving the site s machinery, take part in engineering projects, and see the impact of your work on the shop floor every day. Practical skill, initiative and fresh ideas are encouraged and valued here.

What You ll Be Doing

Responding to breakdowns, diagnosing faults and getting lines back up quicklyCarrying out scheduled PPM to keep equipment in top conditionWorking across both mechanical and electrical disciplinesLooking after a wide range of plant, including conveyors, motors, pumps and gearboxes, pneumatic and hydraulic systemsRepairing, modifying and upgrading machineryHelping with the installation and commissioning of new equipmentTracking down the root cause of repeat failures and eliminating themPartnering with the production team to keep downtime to a minimumDriving improvements in reliability and performanceTaking on fabrication and welding tasks as needed What You ll Need

Time-served multi-skilled maintenance engineer backgroundMechanical and electrical qualifications at NVQ Level 2 or equivalent (strong time-served experience will be considered in place of formal qualifications)A track record in FMCG, manufacturing, industrial or production settingsHands-on experience of both planned and reactive maintenanceSharp fault-finding and problem-solving abilityConfidence working on your own initiative as well as within a team Nice to Have

Knowledge of PLCs and control systemsFabrication and welding experience Interested?
