Thrive Group are delighted to be working with our client in Shepton Mallet who is actively looking to recruit a Maintenance Engineer to join the team on a permanent basis.

What you will be doing:

Working in a fast-paced FMCG factory environment, we are seeking a Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias) to help keep our production running efficiently and reliably and support growth of the engineering team.

Diagnose and repair production and process equipment across all sites. Carry out electrical and mechanical maintenance including wiring, fault finding, and system repairs. Work with PLCs, inverters, heating elements, servo motors, contactors, overloads, sensors (inductive, reed, proximity), and more. Perform mechanical repairs on conveyors, gearboxes, pumps, shafts, tensioners, bearings, etc. Maintain a range of equipment including high-speed packing machines, fillers, pasteurisers, printers, boxing machines, and inspection systems. Record breakdowns and maintenance activities clearly and accurately. Execute and improve pre-planned maintenance (PPM) to reduce downtime and support OEE targets. Contribute to ongoing performance improvements and engineering project What you will need to succeed:

Fully qualified maintenance engineer (ideally time-served, with City & Guilds / HNC / HND). Strong electrical experience is essential. Working knowledge of PLC systems and automated equipment. Mechanical experience with conveyors, motors, gearboxes, pumps, and more. FMCG or food & beverage manufacturing background preferred. Additional skills like turning, milling, or welding are advantageous. What you will receive in return:
