A well-established, high-volume food manufacturing site in Cambridgeshire is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead the engineering function and drive performance, reliability, and compliance.
This role has full accountability for engineering operations, asset care, and team leadership in a fast-paced FMCG environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the site engineering team
Own preventative maintenance planning and execution
Provide senior technical support during critical breakdowns
Drive continuous improvement to improve efficiency, OEE, and cost control
Manage engineering budgets, contractors, and external suppliers
Develop, coach, and upskill the engineering team
Champion food safety, quality, and audit readiness across the site
Actively participate in HACCP/TACCP, audits, and operational excellence programmes
About You
Proven Engineering Manager (or strong Engineering Lead ready to step up)
Background in food or FMCG manufacturing
Strong mechanical and electrical engineering understanding
Confident people leader with a hands-on, improvement-driven mindset
Comfortable operating in a regulated, high-output environment
