Description

CNC Turner - Programmer, Setter, Operator

Salary: Up to 20.00 per hour (dependent on experience)

Hours: Day shift, 39 hours per week (flexible within company opening hours)

Overtime: Time and a half up to 48 hours, double time thereafter

Benefits: 35 days annual leave, pension scheme, death in service benefit

The Opportunity

A well-established, family-owned subcontract engineering business is seeking a skilled CNC Turner to join its high-performing precision machining team. This organisation specialises in producing low-volume, high-accuracy components-primarily machined steel fabrications and cast-iron parts ranging from 100 kg to 3 tonnes.

You will be working in a modern, award-winning engineering facility equipped with the latest CNC machining technology, alongside experienced and knowledgeable machinists.

The Role

Program, set, and operate Fanuc-controlled CNC turning machines

Produce low-volume precision components to exacting customer specifications

Set up tooling and fixturing, prove out programs, and execute machining operations

Follow planned operations to achieve production output at required rates

Adhere to all company Health & Safety and Quality procedures

Maximise productivity through efficient use of materials, tooling, and planning

Carry out comprehensive in-process inspections using standard measuring equipment

Present finished work to a consistently high standard

Plan ahead to minimise downtime and reduce set-up times

About You

To succeed in this role, you should have:

Strong experience programming and editing CNC turning programs (Fanuc essential)

Proven ability to read and interpret engineering drawings to a high standard

Competence in setting and operating CNC machines in a precision machining environment

Ability to conduct initial inspections using micrometers, gauges, and other precision tools

Solid knowledge of materials, modern cutting methods, and machining processes

A reputation for producing high-quality work with minimal errors

A flexible approach to work, including willingness to complete overtime to meet customer demand
