Assistant Branch Manager

CDM Recruitment is recruiting an Assistant Branch Manager for a long-established, market-leading supplier to support the day-to-day commercial and operational performance of its London depot. This is a strong opportunity for an experienced sales or operations professional who is ready to take greater responsibility for branch performance, people and customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities

Support the Branch Manager with the day-to-day operational running of the depot and take responsibility when the Branch Manager is absent.

Lead, motivate and support the branch team to achieve commercial and service objectives.

Assist with recruitment, onboarding and training of new team members.

Support branch-level supplier agreements and commercial activity.

Resolve customer queries, concerns and complaints promptly and professionally.

Work closely with the sales team to develop customer accounts and maintain high service levels.

Build strong relationships with key customers and identify opportunities to support sales growth.

What We're Looking For

At least 3 years' experience within a sales and/or operational role.

Commercial awareness and strong business acumen.

Confidence leading and motivating a team.

Ability to problem-solve and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.

Strong customer focus and a proactive approach.

Microsoft Office and CRM system experience.

Willingness to travel occasionally for meetings and training.

Cable, electrical or a related sector background would be advantageous, although strong transferable experience will be considered.

Package & Benefits

This is a full-time, office-based position. Hybrid and remote working are not offered.

Due to local traffic and the office-based nature of the role, candidates should ideally live within approximately a 30-minute commute.

22 days' annual leave plus bank holidays, increasing with length of service to a maximum of 25 days.

Annual pay review.

Company pension: 5% employee contribution and 3% employer contribution.

Non-contractual scrap bonus after 12 months' service.

Non-contractual Christmas bonus after 12 months' service, starting at one week's wage and increasing with length of service.

Summer and winter social events.

Option of weekly or monthly pay.
