Our client is a leading technology solutions provider offering a comprehensive range of vertically integrated design and manufacturing solutions tailored to meet their client’s highly diversified business requirements. They recognise the market need to be flexible and responsive to meet the demands of a constantly changing landscape, focusing on low to medium volume high mix product profiles with localised support.

Our client is searching for a class 3 Solderer who will be responsible for the soldering of mostly conventional (through hole) components on electronic products and board modifications for a variety of major OEM’s.

The Role:

To undertake hand soldering to PCBs in accordance with defined build instructions for a variety of major OEM’s in market sectors including Automotive, Clean Energy, Communication & Broadcasting, Consumer, Defence & Aerospace, Homeland Security, IP Development Platforms, Medical, Scientific Research & Space.

Main Responsibilities:

* Undertake product soldering in accordance with defined build instructions and IPC-A-610 and J-Std standards

* Dependent on experience, carry out board modifications to customer requirements

* Ensure all processes are stringently adhered to, any gaps or process improvements should be highlighted to your immediate supervision. xjnqpsq They will ensure that effective remedial actions are taken in a timely manner including updating supporting documentation in QMS

* Compliance with the company Quality Standard and procedures

Skills and experience:

* Minimal requirement - Trained to IPC-A-610 and J-Std class 3 standards with demonstrable skills

* Modification knowledge/capabilities preferred but not mandatory

* Experience in product soldering to the relevant IPC standard always ensuring quality workmanship using mostly conventional (through hole) components although there will be occasional work with surface mount components.

* Attention to detail

* Able to follow customer drawings

* Ideal knowledge of colour codes for leaded resistors

* A current IPC certification would be a distinct advantage as would experience working to aerospace standards
