On behalf of our client, a leading organisation based in High Wycombe, we are seeking a meticulous and motivated General Ledger Accountant to join their finance team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This role is ideal for a candidate who thrives in a dynamic environment and is looking to contribute to a high-performing finance function during a period of transformation.

Description

Manage and maintain general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.

Prepare and post journal entries in a timely and accurate manner.

Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies to support month-end and year-end processes.

Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports as required.

Collaborate with other departments to ensure proper documentation and approvals for transactions.

Support audits by providing requested documentation and clarifications.

Identify process improvement opportunities within the general ledger function.

Ensure adherence to company policies and financial regulations at all times.Profile

A successful General Ledger professional should have:

Relevant qualifications in accounting, finance, or a related field.

Experience working with general ledger systems and accounting software.

Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.

Ability to work independently and meet deadlines under pressure.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant tools.

Understanding of financial regulations and compliance standards.Job Offer

An hourly rate of approximately £21 to £23, based on experience.
