Description
The Role
We are looking for a skilled Mechanical Assembler / Fitter to join our growing production team. In this hands-on role, you’ll be responsible for the mechanical assembly, fitting, and integration of electrical switchgear enclosures and associated components to a high standard of accuracy and workmanship.
Key Responsibilities
Assemble and fit mechanical components, panels, and frameworks for electrical switchgear systems.
Work from detailed mechanical and electrical drawings, schematics, and assembly instructions.
Install hinges, locks, busbars, supports, and other mechanical hardware.
Assist with layout and fitting of internal assemblies and subframes.
Carry out basic modifications, drilling, and tapping as required.
Ensure all work meets quality, safety, and technical standards.
Liaise with engineers, electricians, and project teams to resolve build issues.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, following company H&S procedures.
Skills & Experience Required
Proven experience as a mechanical fitter, assembler, or panel builder in a manufacturing environment.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings.
Skilled in the use of hand tools, drills, and general workshop equipment.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Experience in electrical switchgear, control panels, or similar industries is highly desirable.
