We are seeking a skilled Vehicle Technician to join our client’s well-established independent garage in Portsmouth, Hampshire. This is an excellent Vehicle Technician opportunity for an experienced professional to become part of a small, friendly team focused on delivering top-quality service and repairs. Benefits:

Competitive basic salary starting at £37,000, with potential for performance-based increases

OTE approximately £38,000 including overtime

Hours of work from 08:00 to 17:00, Monday to Friday

Ongoing training to enhance technical expertiseDuties:

Conduct routine servicing, diagnostics, and repairs across various vehicle makes and models

Perform MOT testing within the garage’s existing facilities

Assist in maintaining high first-time fix rates to uphold the garage’s reputation

Repair mechanical components such as clutches, cambelts, and brakes

Support limited EV service work, mainly brakes and tyres

Ensure all work is completed efficiently, accurately, and to a high standard

Deliver excellent customer service, building confidence and trust

Collaborate with the team to support business growth through technical proficiencyRequirements:

Proven experience as a Vehicle Technician, with relevant qualifications or time-served background

An MOT license is desirable but not essential; willingness to undertake training if required

Strong understanding of diagnostic tools and technical data, including Autodata

Confident with scanners such as Launch Diagnostic and basic EV servicing (brakes and tyres)

Reliable, punctual, and professional attitude

Effective communication skills with customers and team members
