We are looking for an experienced Mobile Fleet Engineer to provide on-site maintenance, repair, and fault-finding for buses and coaches. If you enjoy hands-on work, problem-solving, and working independently while supporting the wider transport network, this could be the perfect role for you.

You will travel to depots, garages, and sometimes directly to vehicles at operational locations, ensuring our fleet is safe, reliable, and available for passengers across the Southport and surrounding areas.

Diagnose and rectify mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults efficiently on-site.

Conduct roadside assistance and recovery as required to minimise service disruption.

Carry out routine servicing including oil changes, lubrication, and filter replacements.

Identify and report any major defects or recurring issues to the Workshop Supervisor.

Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records for all work performed.

Ensure strict compliance with health & safety regulations, company policies, and environmental standards.

Work collaboratively with other technicians and operational staff to ensure maximum fleet availability.

Keep mobile work areas clean, safe, and organised.

What you need as Mobile Fleet Engineer

Recognised apprenticeship or equivalent qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.

Proven experience as a PSV Mechanic, Bus Technician, HGV Technician, or Commercial Vehicle Engineer.

Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills for mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.

Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment and workshop tools.

Full UK Driving Licence (essential); PCV / Category D licence desirable or willingness to obtain.

Ability to work independently while managing time effectively on mobile assignments.

Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and public holidays if required. xjnqpsq
