I bought 2 of these 3 books from new at University and the other (by Brade-Birks) was gifted to me second-hand at that time. All 3 have stayed safe & sound in our smoke-free home ever since and are in excellent condition as may be seen from the photos of the actual books (not mere stock photos).
THE TECHNIQUES OF ARCHAEOLOGICAL EXCAVATION by Philip Barker, 1979 Second Impression, paperback, weighs in at over 0.8 kg and 280 pages and is THE classic textbook on how to excavate.
MAN THE TOOL-MAKER by Kenneth Oakley, 1972, 6th edition, paperback, 102 pages, covers the tool cultures of the paleolithic.
ARCHAEOLOGY by Graham Brade-Birks, 1962, 220 pages, is a good reference for general overviews and also the archtiectural sequences into history.
These may be collected in person in West Kilbride most any day after 12 noon.
