An established and growing accountancy practice based in Bromsgrove is seeking an experienced Client Manager to join their Midlands office. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant looking to manage their own client portfolio while playing a key role in mentoring junior team members and supporting senior leadership.

The RoleAs Client Manager, you will take ownership of a varied client portfolio and act as the main point of contact, delivering high-quality accounting, tax and advisory services. You'll work closely with Senior Managers and Directors, contributing to technical work, client advice and team development.

Key responsibilitiesReview company financial statements and sole trader accountsReview corporation tax returnsDraft technical and client-facing advice with support from Senior Managers and DirectorsOversee personal tax compliance and annual personal tax filings for clientsEnsure accurate and compliant financial statement disclosuresManage and maintain a portfolio of clients, acting as first point of contactLiaise with clients regarding deadlines, requirements and queriesSupport Senior Managers and Directors across Accounts, Tax, VAT, Payroll and Company Secretarial deadlinesCommunicate with clients to obtain required informationBuild and maintain strong, long-term client relationshipsProvide ad hoc financial support, including interpretation of resultsSupport clients with internal systems and controls, including implementation of accounting softwareConfidently explain tax and financial matters to reassure and advise clientsSupport and mentor senior associates and supervisorsAbout youACA / ACCA qualified (or equivalent)Minimum of 2 years' post-qualification experience within practiceProven experience managing your own portfolio of clientsStrong technical knowledge across accounts and tax, with a commitment to continued developmentConfident using Outlook, Word and ExcelStrong experience with XeroExposure to Iris, Alpha, QuickBooks and Sage 50 desirableTechnologically aware and comfortable adopting new systemsSelf-motivated with the ability to apply skills to new scenariosStrong communication and people management skillsAbility to work under pressure while maintaining accuracy and focusExcellent analytical and research skillsThe packageCompetitive salary26 days' holiday plus public holidaysEnhanced pension contributionsHealth plan benefitsFlexible working optionsFree on-site parkingClear progression opportunitiesOngoing training and professional development
