We are looking for a Surveyor to join our client (offices in Penge and Bexley)

We are a successful, community–based registered provider of social housing managing approximately 700 homes. Our portfolio includes homes we own directly and homes managed in partnership with a local authority. We are passionate about working collaboratively with our residents and making a positive difference within our communities.

We are seeking an experienced Surveyor with strong technical knowledge and a customer–focused approach to join our team. This role is central to maintaining and improving our housing stock while ensuring compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements.

Working within a small, friendly and committed team, you will have the opportunity to be involved in all key areas of asset management including major repairs, planned works, stock condition surveys and compliance. A key focus of the role will be managing damp, condensation and mould (DCM) cases and ensuring residents receive a responsive and effective service.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a smaller organisation, where you can gain a broad understanding of the business and make a real impact on both services and residents.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct detailed property inspections and surveysSupport the delivery of planned, cyclical and major repair programmesPrepare specifications, obtain quotations and oversee works on siteManage cases relating to damp, condensation and mouldUndertake surveys and reports relating to disrepair casesSupport void property inspections and specification of worksMaintain and update stock condition survey dataWork closely with contractors and colleagues to ensure high–quality service deliveryEnsure compliance with housing, health and safety and regulatory requirementsAbout You

The successful candidate will combine technical surveying expertise with a strong customer focus and the ability to build positive relationships with residents, contractors and colleagues.

You will have:

Proven experience in property surveying, maintenance or a related fieldStrong knowledge of damp, mould and condensation managementExperience conducting and recording detailed property surveysKnowledge of procurement processes and tendering major worksExcellent communication and relationship–building skillsStrong organisational and problem–solving abilitiesThe ability to work independently and manage a varied workloadExperience in the social housing sector and professional membership (e.g. RICS, CIOB) would be advantageous but is not essential.
